CENTRAL SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE MILK SUPPLY SCHEME. FURTHER REPRESENTATIONS TO BE MADE. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Central School Committee was held in the school last evening, there being present: Messrs W. R. Nicol (chairman), G. Masters, G. Bilderbeck, A. I. Gibbs, T. A. Russell, P. H. Shaw, A. E. Nelson and L. W. Butler. The financial statement showed a satisfactory balance and accounts amounting to £3 4s were passed. The meeting endorsed the action of the chairman in authorising the spending of a sum of money for sanitary services.
Correspondence connected with the proposed removal of a tree and schools milk supply were dealt with. In the case of the latter it was decided to instruct the secretary to again write to the Minister of Health and in the event of- no satisfaction being obtained to arrange a meeting of all bodies concerned with the idea of protesting at the continued non-supply. The action of the secretary in allowing the use of the school ground for teams to practice was endorsed.
The report of the headmaster, Mr E. G. Coddington, was received. This mentioned the visit of the Whareama teacher and children for a day and the display of model aeroplanes to assist the A.T.C. special mission. The roll number was stated to be 631 and the attendance over 90 per cent.
Representatives of the East School stated that the annual bazaar would be held in the East School grounds on Sab urday next.
The chairman reported on the museum alterations and building proposals. Further purchases of fuel were authorised.
