ENGINE-DRIVER SENTENCED

THREE YEARS’ REFORMATIVE DETENTION

DUNEDIN, This Day.

In the Supreme Court this morning, Mr Justice Kennedy imposed a sentence of three years’ reformative detention on John Patrick Alphonsus Corcoran, following on his conviction on a charge of manslaughter. Corcoran was driver of the train which was derailed near Hyde on June 4,. when 21 persons were killed.
