REGENCY IN ITALY

FOR SIX-YEAR-OLD PRINCE OF NAPLES

SUGGESTED BY SIGNOR CROCE.

ABDICATION OF THE KING

FAVOURED.

(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright)

(Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) , LONDON, October 31

Signor Beneditto Croce, probably the most influential figure on the Italian political scene, told the Press he favoured the abdication, of the King of Italy and the immediate creation of a Regency for the Prince of Naples, aged six, who is a son of the Crown Prince of Italy. Signor Croce claims that a Regency is the best solution of the present chaotic situation, and that it could be established without damaging Italy’s Republican aspirations. Signor Croce admitted that the industrial population of North Italy was tending towards Socialism and Communism.
