It was stated last night by the Deputy Prime Minister. Mr Nash, that the condition of Mr P. Fraser was improving.
At Pahiatua on Friday the death occurred of Mrs Elizabeth Keats, wife of Mr George Arthur Keats, of Mangamutu, at the age of 81 years. Captain N. M. Irwin, of Masterton, New Zealand Dental Corps, has been reposted to the Territorial Force with the temporary rank of captain and ceases to be seconded to the Second N.Z.E.F.
The engagement is announced of Edna Ray, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. G. Clark, Whakarongo, Palmerston North, to Second Lieutenant Frederick Charles Groves, N.Z.A., only son of Mr and Mrs W. F. Groves, Kohinui. The death occurred recently of Miss Annie Jane Beattie, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs R. E. Beattie, Woodville, Born in Woodville 47 years ago, Miss Beattie was a foundation member of the Woodville Women's Institute, and was for a period president, being founder of the garden circle.
