BOWLING SEASON OPENING POSTPONED. (“Times-Age” Special.) Owing to continued rain the official opening of the Carterton Bowling Club’s green has been postponed until November 6. First Offender for Drunkenness. A first offender on a charge of drunkenness appeared before Mr W. C M. Sorenson,-J.P., at the Carterton S.M. Court this morning and was convicted and discharged. Personal Items. Mrs Guy Booth, of Petone, is a visitor to Carterton and is staying with her mother, Mrs Stevens, of Carrington. Mrs A. R. Hadfield, of Bulls, was a visitor to the Carterton Show yesterday. Mrs Churchill, of Petone, is visiting Carterton, and is staying with her sister, Mrs W. Chew, Rhodes Street. House Sales. Two residential properties have recently changed hands in Carterton, one in Victoria Street and another in Garrison Street. Women's Division Dance. A dance in aid of the Merchant Navy Fund will be held in the State Theatre, Carterton, tomorrow night by the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Two novelty competitions will be held with a 10s prize to each winning ccuple. Mr T. Udy’s Orchestra will supply the music.
