Nathan, A. Harcombe, J. Wright and C. F. A. Jones. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames G. W. Sellar and H. Rishworth, Miss E. Carey and Miss M. Patrick. During the next three months knitters are asked to make a great effort to increase the numbers of sleeveless pullovers, balaclavas, mittens and gloves. It was reported that special glove wool and patterns are available. There are large stocks of wool, and knitters may obtain the same from any member of the committee. England is facing her fifth winter of cold and black-out. Many New Zealanders have been there for several years, and it?s hoped to forward many bales of woollies for replacements. New Zealand men in Canada also need bales of woollen comforts, and the committee look to all knitters to help to supply them. x xTThe committee stood in silence to the memory of two staunch workers who will be much missed —Mrs E. Carey and Miss Ashwell. After the meeting the committee packed three cases of tinned food for New Zealand men, sick and prisoners of war, overseas This included Christmas cakes, tinned puddings and reduced cream.
