LATE SIR DUDLEY POUND

ASHES COMMITTED TO SEA. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October .27. When the ashes of Admiral of the Fleet, Sir Dudley Pound were embarked on a warship for committal to sea at Portsmouth today six chief petty officers carried the casket on board. As the ship left with the casket under a Union Jack on the quarter-deck, guards of honour presented arms, and the Royal Marfine Band played “Rule Britannia.” Officers and men stood to attention while the warship steamed out of the harbour past Nelson’s flagship Victory and a band on the jetty played “Auld Lang Syne.”
