ATTACK BY DAY

ON CHERBOURG DOCKS

MADE BY ESCORTED BOMBERS. POWER STATION & OTHER TARGETS DAMAGED. LONDON, October 28. Allied aircraft crossed the English Channel today to attack the docks at Cherbourg. The attack was made by Whirl winds and Typhoon fighter-bombers, with a fighter escort. Warehouses, a power station and other targets were hit. One bomber failed to return.
