OPENING OF SEASON TOMORROW BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Masterton Park Tennis Club was held recently in the Y.M.C.A. rooms when there was a large attendance of members. Mr A. M. Sanson presided. The resignation of the secretary. Miss B. Martell, was received with regret and appreciation was expressed of her valuable services during her term of oil ice. It. was decided to hold the official opening of the season tomorrow, wet or tine, at 2 p.m. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: —Patron, Mr T. Jordan; president, Mr A. Kelly; vicepresidents, Messrs G. R. Joy, F. Mills, F. Knowles, A. M. Sanson, W. Batty, A. Dixon. L. S. Nicol and G. T. O’Hara Smith; captain, Mr Nancarrow; secretary, Miss J. Riley; committee, Mrs Thompson, Misses B. Martel, L. Kilgour, F. I. Burton and M. B. Clarke. The annual report referred to the absence of members on active service despite which a keen interest in the club was ■ retained by the remaining members. Thanks were expressed to the Park staff, to the Press and to all office bearers.
