LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY
PLAY-READING LAST NIGHT The play presented last night at the Little Theatre Society’s fortnightly play-reading was Lesley Storm's hilarious comedy “Tony Draws a Horse,” with the following cast: “Mrs Smith,” ! Mrs A. E. Clemas; “Tim Shields,” Mr J. A. Kennedy; “Clare Fleming,” Mrs J. A. Kennedy; “Dr Howard Fleming,” Mr J. B. Kent-Johnston; “Grace,” Miss N. M. West; “Grandpa,” Mr Mackenzie Douglas; “Elise Parsons,” Mrs Brodie; “Mrs Parsons,” Mrs T. Jordan; “Alfred Parsons,” Mr H. H. Daniell; “Agnes,” Miss Jean McLagan; “Pschenschynoff,” Mi - B. J. Roache; “Waiter,” Mr John Cunningham; “Miss Burchall,” Miss N. M. West. The stage director was Mr L. T. Daniell.; That the reading was a great success was amply testified by the continuous laughter and applause of the large attendance of members. The whole production reflected great credit on the cast and on Mr L. T. Daniell’s direction. Amongst an excellent cast the splendid impersonation by Mrs T. Jordan of Mrs Parsons deserves special mention. The presentation of Grace was an outstanding example of how effective minor parts can be made. Miss West showed her versatility by reading also a part of a totally different character. The next reading, on November 10, will be “Grouse in June,” a comedy by N. C. Hunter. On Wednesday. November 17, the society intends to present at the Savage Club Hall a dramatised reading of “People in Love.”
