BUTTER & CREAM

SUPPLIES FOR INVALIDS NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN ACCORDING TO RATIONING CONTROLLER (By Telegranh—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. There is no cause for concern by invalids and hospitals about obtaining supplies of cream,'said the Rationing Controller (Mr Thomas) today. Some latitude will be allowed at’ first in applying restrictions on the sale of cream. Suppliers are given this latitude for the next week, because invalids must not be deprived of their needs of cream in the period before they are able to obtain the necessary permits. Until permits have been obtained by this special medical group of consumers, vendors may continue to supply them for the coming week. In the same way there must be no waste of cream. Cream now on hand with vendors can be disposed of in the ordinary way. Applications for permits to obtain cream on medical grounds should be made as soon as possible and definitely before the end of next week. Permit forms should be available at all rationing offices by next Monday. As for special requirements of butter on medical grounds, the same difficulty does not arise immediately. With one coupon available for the rest of the week and two more available on Monday, invalids should have ample butter supplies to carry them over until they have applied for and received their special sheet of coupons.
