MRS ROOSEVELT

APPRECIATION OF LETTERS FROM NEW ZEALAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The American Charge d'Affaires, Mr Reymond Cox, has been asked by Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt to say that she is deeply touched by the sentiments expressed in' the many letters she received during her visit to New Zealand. She wishes to express her appreciation and her sincere regrets that she cannot personally answer each letter, nor send the hundreds of autographs requested, as she believes that the mails should not be crowded at this time when all available space is needed for Christmas letters and packages to service men overseas. Mrs Roosevelt asked Mr Cox to say that she will always cherish the memory of her visit and ihe kindness of the people of New Zealand.
