Mr C. H. Harrow, of Pahiatua, celebrated his 90th birthday on Sunday. Miss Ida Redward, Napier, is the guest of Mrs Dixon, Chapel Street, Masterton. Mrs H. E. Haggitt, Mataikona, is staying with her sister, Mrs. W. L. Hunter, Coradine Street, Masterton. Mr and Mrs C. Woods, Waipawa, spent the weekend with Mrs Woods Senr., Albert Street, Masterton. Miss E. Caldwell (Masterton), of the W.W.S.A., has been successful in passing her transport examination. Mrs H. Cross, Bannister Street, Masterton, has received cabled advice that her son, Sergeant E. K. Cross, has been promoted to 2nd Lieutenant. The death occurred at Pahiatua on Monday of Mr George Frederick Gelberd, a well-known resident, at the age of 94 years. Messrs W. J. Broadfoot and R. M. Algie, M’s.P., have been appointed representatives of the Parliamentary section on the Dominion executive of the New Zealand National Party.
