LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST RAIN AT TIMES OUTLOOK RATHER UNSETTLED The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Fresh north-easterly winds, strong at times on the coast. Weather overcast, with rain at times. Temperatures mild. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Rather unsettled with cooler temperatures. Mr H. M. Buddington. reports that 20 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. The Waingawa sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today: Shade temperature: Maximum 55; minimum, 48; terrestrial, 48. Rain, 18 points. PHASES OF THE MOON. OCTOBER. New moon, October 29.
