The Home Garden.
A considerable amount of helpful information bearing on the methodical and economical cultivation ol the home vegetable garden, with a view to obtaining maximum production irom crops spread well over the year, is given in a bulletin published by Massey Agricultural College. Copies of the bulletin may be obtained free on application to the Registrar, Massey Agricultural College, Palmerston North. Labour Day Weekends. During the past 40 years there have been only two Labour Day weekends in Masterton during which no rain fell. Mr H. M. Boddington, Solway, stales that his records give the following details for the period October 24, 25, 26 and 27 during the past 40 years: Rain recorded on every day, 7 occasions; on three days, 12; on two days, 12; on one day, 7; no rain recorded on any day. 2. The latter occasions were in 1926 and 1934.
