A Rare Event
A rare event occurred at the Palmerston North District Maternity Home, when triplets were born to Mr and Mrs A. Y. Douglas. The babies arc all girls. An interesting coincidence is that the babies were born on their mother’s birthday. Red Cross Service Club. The American Red Cross Service Club will hold dancing to records tonight, tomorrow night and on Wednesday night. All registered girls are urged to attend. The club has a large selection of the latest records of the best dance bands and an enjoyable time is assured. Three Persons Injured. When a small car in which they were travelling collided with a military lorry's trailer at Tawa Flat at G a.m. on Saturday, three Johnsonville residents were injured and were taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. T hey were Mr H. Rusher, Pctherick Crescent, boatman, concussion and abrasions to his face and legs; Mr R. J. Cleverley, Atua Street, factory assistant, facial wounds and shock; and Mr K. Oswald, Trafalgar Street, radio mechanic, fractured left leg, abrasions to his body and shock.
