MANY ATTACKS

BY ALLIED FIGHTERS & BOMBERS ON OCCUPIED & ENEMY TERRITORY. MINOR RAIDS ON BRITAIN. LONDON, October 22. ILA.F. Spitfires, in sweeps over enemy territory today, , destroyed eight German fighters for the loss of one plane. Other planes provided an escort and cover for United States Marauders which attacked an airfield near Paris. Extensive damage was reported. Fires were started among hangars and buildings and a number of parked aircraft were hit. Last night Mosquitos were again over Western Germany and once again all got back. ■ Another small force of German raiders were over Britain last night, estimated to number not more than a dozen. A few got through to the London area. One was destroyed. _ London had another alert tonight, when some bombs were dropped.
