ALFREDTON

SOLDIER HONOURED ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The residents of Alfredton and surrounding districts entertained Sergeant lan McDonald at a social gathering. The time was spent in dancing, the music being supplied by Mrs Houlbrooke and Mr Rowden. Extras were played by Miss B. Edmonds. Mr R. Kebbell presented Sergeant McDonald with a cheque from the re< sidents of the district, wishing him the best of luck. Mrs McDonald was presented with a beautiful posy, and Miss McDonald with a shoulder spray. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee. The gathering was most enjoyable. Personal Items. Miss M. Cave has been the guest of Mrs Hill. Driver T. Rolls is spending leave with his father, Mr H. Rolls. The friends of Mr Ron Nordloff will be pleased to learn that his condition is improving. He is still in the Masterton Hospital. Mrs Smith, Senr., is an inmate of the Pahiatua Hospital.
