ST. JOHN’S CHURCH FELLOWSHIP OF YOUTH (“Times-Age” Special.) Another branch of St John's Church Fellowship of Youth was formed at the Kahutara Hall on Wednesday evening. The Vicar of Featherston (the Rev J. R. Higgs) took the chair, and the elected officers were: Miss Hewison (hon secretary) and Mr I. Sicmonek (hon treasurer). It. was decided to meet every fortnight, on Wednesday evenings. WOMEN’S DIVISION TWELFTH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED The Pahautea bra'nch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union met in the Pahautea Hall yesterday, Mrs Ross being in the chair. It was the twelfth birthday. The visitors were welcomed by Mrs Ross. Shoulder sprays were presented to Mesdames Maitland, Beu and Ross. Mrs K. Grove spoke on the rest homes recently acquired by the Women's Division. Mrs Maitland (provincial secretary) gave a brief talk on gardening. Competitions were won by Mrs Beattie and Mrs Elbe. Mrs Conwell rendered two songs which were much appreciated. The birthday cake was made and iced by Miss Frew. The top tier 1 was won by Mrs Frew. The bring and buy stall was well patronised and the money is to be devoted to the local soldiers overseas parcel fund. Afternoon tea was provided by the members. COSY THEATRE DOUBLE FEATURE BILL. There will be shown tonight the magnificent drama “On the Sunny Side,” featuring Roddy McDowell and Jane Darwell, and the thrilling picture “The Ghost of Frankenstein,” in which the chief roles are taken by Lon Chaney, Ralph Bellamy, Sir Cedric Hardwicke and Evelyn Ankers.
