INCREASE IN ENTRIES. The following is a statement of the entries received for the Wairarapa Show, the figures in parentheses being for the last show (1941): —Competitions, 206 (200); horses, 198 (168); cattle, 317 (261); sheep, 274 (392); pigs, 48 (84); dogs, 259 (247); cheese and butter, 57 (35); cooking (including school), 340 (326); sewing and fancywork, 167 (116); school children's classes, 758 (664); night show, 33 (51); totals, 2657 (2544). On People’s Day a special passenger train will leave Wellington at 8.26 a.m. arriving at Carterton at approximately 11.45 a.m. and a special return train will leave Carterton for Wellington at 4.47 p.m.
