AIR TRAINING CORPS
VISIT OF MOBILE UNIT AND TOURING FLIGHT. DEMONSTRATIONS IN MASTERTON AND CARTERTON. An inside view of the technical and flying training of the Royal New Zealand Air Force will be afforded parents and interested members of the public during the visit of the Air Training Corps Mobile Instructional Unit and the A.T.C. Touring Flight, next Monday and Tuesday. The Mobile Instructional Unit consists of three modern transport vehicles fitted up as mobile workshops and display booths. The unit is a new departure in air technical training. In charge of an R.N.Z.A.F. and N.C.O’s. who are technicians, the unit is at present touring the Dominion and will visit Masterton on Monday, October 25. and Tuesday, October 26, and will be on view also at the Wairarapa Show on Wednesday and Thursday, October 2/ and 28.
The A.T.C. Touring Flight will also visit Masterton next week and will give flights to all cadets of the Masterton Squadron and also all new recruits who may enlist during the recruiting drive to be held that week. The co-operation of the citizens of Masterton is earnestly sought in order that the recruiting drive will bear good results. It is anticipated that there will be a big response from the youths of Masterton and a target of 100 new cadets has been sot by the publicity committee. Parents of youths between the ages of 16 and 20 years are especially invited to inspect the unit during its visit and see for themselves the high standard of training and other advantages offered by the Air Training Corps.
