ATTACK ON RABAUL
ALLIES STRIKE ANOTHER HEAVY BLOW ’ SIXTY JAPANESE PLANES DESTROYED. CARGO STEAMER & GUNBOAT SUNK. LONDON, October 19. A communique from the South-West Pacific gives news of another heavy blow at the great Japanese base of Rabaul. Sixty Japanese planes were destroyed yesterday by Allied medium bombers and probably six more. A Japanese gunboat and a 6,000 ton cargo ship were bombed'and sunk.
