DISCUSSION BY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE MASTERTON BRANCH MEETING A general meeting of the Mastertan branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute was held recently, there being a large attendance of members, presided over by Mr E. G. Coddington. Before the formal business of the meeting commenced, representatives of the National Council of Churches and the local Ministers’ Association were received, time having been allotted to them to put before the branch the policy of the National Council of Churches in regard to religious instruction. A vote of thanks was accorded to the delegation at the conclusion of the discussion. The general business included problems affecting the grading of soldier teachers, and suggested changes im the method of electing members of the central executive of the New Zealand Educational Institute. Supper was served at the conclusion of the meeting.
