NAVAL BATTLE
REFUSED BY JAPANESE HUGE FLEET ASSEMBLED AT TRUK. | BUT TEST OF STRENGTH AVOIDED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) WASHINGTON, October 18. The United States Navy Department disclosed that the Japanese in January concentrated a huge fleet, including battleships and carriers, as well as a large force of aircraft between Truk and the Solomon Islands.
