KIATERE HARRIERS

CONCLUDING RUN OF SEASON SENIOR & JUNIOR CONTESTS Wintry conditions prevailed for the final run of the season when members of the Kiatere Harrier Club gathered at the residence of the club captain on Saturday. The track was exceptionally muddy and the going was very slow. K. Greaves was first in the juniors and W. MacDonald was first in the seniors, both having only a small margin from the rest of the competitors. The following are the results: — Junior: K. Greaves, 21min. 7sec. 1; N. Jacobsen, 22min 30sec, 2; N. McArley, 23min 45sec, 3. Senior: W. MacDonald, 45min, 1; G. Summers, 45min 7sec, 2; G. Hayes, 45 min 23sec, 3. Fastest times: Junior: K. Greaves, 18.17mins. N. Jacobsen, 18.20. Senior: W. MacDonald, 40mins; G. Hayes, 43.53 mins.

After the run the president, Mr A. L. Askew, presented the junior trophies; the 21 -mile championship cup to K. Greaves and the 3 1-8 mile championship cup to N. Jacobsen. This is the third year in succession that N. Jacobsen has won this cup. Mr Askew welcomed back W. Burns, who has returned from overseas and was having his first' run since he left two' years ago.

At the special invitation of the president members are invited to compete in a run from his residence on Saturday, October 30.
