LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FAIR TO FINE. SHARP FROST TONIGHT. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today.— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate southerly winds predominating. Weather fair to fine. Some sharp frosts tonight, but day temperature moderate. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Fair and milder. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday: —Shade temperature, maximum, 50; minimum, 37; terrestrial, 33; sunshine, 2 hours 6 minutes; rain, 12 points. The Waingawa Sub-station reports as follows for the 21 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, maximum, 31; minimum, 39; terrestrial, 35. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 9 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday, and 2 points for a similar period ended 9 a.m. today. PHASES OF THE MOON. OCTOBER.
