HASTWELLS
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs K. Ngatuere presided over a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Hastwells Women’s Institute. A donation of £1 2s was sent to the Leper Fund. It' was decided to grow potatoes for the potato competition this year. The roll-call given by Mrs C. Seymour was: “What you do that irritates your husband or father most?” The motto given by Miss E. Dick was “Judge not your fellow members by results but by their efforts.” The competitions for the month resulted as follow:—Seniors, child’s bodice and bloomers, Mrs J. Dick 1. Juniors: Sun bonnet: Miss E. Larsen 1, Miss E. Dick 2. Shoulder spray: Miss E. Dick 1, Mrs Ngatuere 2, Miss O. Halberg 3.
The parcel fund conducted by Miss O. Halberg was won by Miss E. Dick.
Miss E. Larsen, the hostess, served afternoon tea.'
