CARTERTON
BOY SCOUTS CARD TOURNEY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The weekly card tournament held by the Boy Scout Committee was well attended. The prizes were won as follows: — Ladies: Mrs Eagle, 1; Mrs F. Jackson Senr., 2. Men: Mrs Paterson, 1; G. Goodin, 2. Women’s Division Dance. Members of the Carterton branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union will hold a dance in the State Theatre tomorrow night. Two novelty dance competitions with a 10s prize for the winning couple in each case will be included in the programme. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs Bennett, of Palmerston North, are visiting Carterton. Mrs H. Goodin, of Waikato, who is visiting Featherston and Carterton, will return home next week. Wairarapa P. & A. Society The final meeting of the general committee of the Wairarapa P. and A. Society prior to the show will be held tomorrow morning at 10.30 o’clock. Splendid entries have been received for the show and they are much better- than was expected. The show will be held on October 27 and 28.
