SLOW PROGRESS

ERECTION OF NEW BRIDGE AT TE WHITI. COJJNTY COUNCIL DISCUSSION. At today's meeting of the Masterton County Council, the engineers, Messrs Seaton, Sladden and Pavitt, reported that progress during the month on the Ruamahanga River bridge at Te Whiti had been slow. “The report is practically, word for word, last month’s report.” observed Councillor J. W. Colquhoun. “They only drove one pile last month,” said the chairman, Mr R. E. Gordon Lee. “It’s a pity the men engaged on the Wangaehu bridge are not on the job,” observed Councillor H. H. Mawley. “The job would have been half finished by now,’ ’observed Mr Lee.
