LANSDOWNE SCHOOL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the Lansdowne Schoo! Committee was held last evening, Mr A V. Faulkner presiding over a fair attendance ef members. Accounts amounting to £l2 9s 4d were passed. The acting head teacher. Mr H. M. Smith, reported that the present roll number was 272. 21 of whom were in the hospital class. Tho grounds were reported to be in good order and were receiving regular attention. The first-aid class had an examination on its work*and all the candidates passed. A collection for the Health Camp campaign resulted in the sum of £5 14s 7d being handed over. Mrs Whale took up her duties at the school from October 1 and the new headmaster, Mr Robbie, is to commence duty on November 1.
