FOUR RESIDENTS CHARGED

ALLEGED BREACHES OF GAMING ACT. A special sitting of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court was held on Saturday afternoon before Mr. L. J. Taylor. J.P., when four local residents. G. H. Lavery, William Brady. Herbert Hirst and William Darvill were charged with alleged breaches of the Gaming Act. On the application of Senior-Detec-tive W. Kane, they were remanded to appear before Mr. H. P. Lawry. S.M.. on Thursday, October 21. Bail was granted at £lOO in every case.
