WEDDING

RYAN—ETON. The marriage took place at St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, on Saturday afternon of Alice Amy. only daughter of Mr. E. G. Eton, and the late Mrs. Eton, of Cornwall Street. Masterton, io Robert Raymond, only son of Mr. and Kirs. E. Ryan, South Road, Masterton. The church was artistically decorated with spring flowers by friends of the bride. The ceremony was conducted by the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich and Mr. Miller Hope presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of off-white satin with a lace yoke and long close-fitting lace sleeves. Her tulle embroidered veil, lent by a friend, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. A shower bouquet of white tulips and pink carnations was carried. The bride' was attended by Mrs. John Howie, of Fordell, who wore a model frock of fuchsia coloured satin and the flowers in her hair and in the bouquet she carried were of lighter toning shades. Mr. Rex Shaw,of Masterton, was best man, and the ushers at the church were Aircraftman Jack Eton and Mr. Eric Shaw. The reception was held at the bride’s residence where relatives and close fronds were received by the bride’s aunt, Mrs L. M. Wilson, and Mrs. Ryan. Mrs. Wilson wore a black ensemble with a black veiled hat and a pink shoulder spray. Mrs. Ryan was attired in navy blue with touches of white and wore a toning shoulder spray. The handsome wedding cake was given by the bride’s god-child, Miss Jill Divers. When Mr. and Mrs. Ryan left for the north, the bride travelled in a horizon blue braided suit with matching accessories.
