OBITUARY
MRS. J. B. KEITH. The death occurred in Masterton this morning of Mrs. Agatha Gertrude Keith, widow of the late Mr. J. B. Keith, at the age of 87 years. The late Mrs. Keith was born at Adelaide, South Australia, and came to New Zealand at the age of five years. .'Her parents were pioneer settlers of the Wairarapa, leasing “Matahiwi” for several years, where her father felled most of the bush. Mrs.. Keith experienced all the hardships of the early ■settlers with fortitude. For many years 'she took a leading part in amateur operatic performances, having an exceptionally good voice. A sister, two daughters and three sons are left to mourn their loss. The funeral will be a private one. MRS. JANE SHAW. The death occurred pt Palmerston North this morning of Mrs. Jane Shaw, widow of the late Mr. George Shaw, a former well-known resident of the Wairarapa. The late Mrs. Shaw, who was born in Yorkshire, England, came to New Zealand at an early age and took up her residence in the Wairarapa, where her husband was engaged in farming for many years. For some years Mrs. Shaw had 'resided at Palmerston North and until recently was a keen knitter for patriotic activities. She is survived by a family of three sons, Messrs. Joseph, Thomas and Ivan Shaw, and thr?'J daughters, Mesdamcs J. Judd, C. Oliver and J. Tilson. Mrs. Shaw was predeceased by a daughter Mrs. Lancaster and two sons, Messrs. Sydney and Jack Shaw. There are 16 grand children, eight of whom are in the armed forces, and 16 great-grand children,
