MADE BY CATTLE AT CARTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson & Co., report as follows on their Carterton yesterday: A good entry came forward. More fat sheep than usual were offered and met with good competition. Several pens of ewes with lambs at foot were offered but met with a limited demand. Cattle made good values. Only a few springers were offered and sold well. Baconer and porker pigs made late values, while slips and weaners were slightly easier. The following are prices:—Fat sheep: fat woolly hoggets, 27s to 345; light do., 24s to 26s 3d: fat wcrclly ewes. 29s to 335. fat shorn ewes. 18s 9d to 22s • fat shorn wethers. 28s 6d to 33s 3d: ewes with b.f. lambs at foot, 13s all counted. Cattle: Springing heifers (good), £l3 ss; cows on drop, £8 to £9: yearling Jersey heifers, £3 10s to £4 10s: fat cows. £8 to £10: forward cows, £5 to £7; store cows, £3 8s to £4 10s Pigs: Baconers. £3 12s to £3 7s 6d: porkers, £2 to £2 ss; slips, 28s to 365; weaners, 20s to 275, _____„
