CONDITIONS OF RELEASE

> MEN OF THE FURLOUGH DRAFT (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Every member of the Middle East furlough draft who is entitled to elect whether he will remain in New Zealand or return to the Middle East has been approached by the Army for his decision and these decisions are now coming to hand. Men in this category consist of married men with one child or more, men over 40 and Maoris, with the exception of certain warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, tradesmen and specialists, whose return has been asked for. All other classes excluded from the right of exercising an option—men without children and single men—have the right of appealing to Army Headquarters for relief from returning on the grounds of undue hardship, and where a reasonable case is made out the Army passes the appeal on to the Armed Forces appeal boards.
