POWER STATIONS

SERVING NAZI ARMAMENT WORKS DESTROYED BY FRENCH PATRIOTS. SERIOUS BLOW TO INVADERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, October 5. French patriots have- destroyed three power stations which were of great importance to German armament works in France, says the Algiers,, radio. The effect of this blow to the Germans is comparable to the R.A.F. raids on the Ruhr dain.s. The Chalons-sur-Saone power-sta-tion, producing 250,000 kilowatts, of which 80 per cent, went to Germany and the remainder to the Le Crcusot armament works, was blown up by

delayed-action bombs. Patriots also destroyed a transformer station at Germellos, near Chalons-sur-Saone, and a great transformer station which directly served the Le Creusot plant. Experts express the opinion that the damage cannot be repaired in less than six months.
