HASTWELLS
ENJOYABLE CONCERT GIVEN BY EKETAHUNA PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large and happy gathering at the Hastwells Hall last night, when a concert party from Eketahuna presented an entertainment in connection with the Mangamahoe candidate’s campaign in the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union “Kiddies’ Carnival.” After supper had been served a dance was held. Competitions were won as follows: Dinner, Mrs. O’Neill; box of tea, Mr. A. Thorby; soldier’s cake, Mr. M. Ngature. Mr. W. H. Cheetham, on behalf of the W.D.F.U., thanked the Eketahuna Concert party for their assistance. Mr. Smith, Eketahuna, replied. Six ladies in the Mangamahoe district have raised nearly £lOO for the mercantile marine as a result of their effort for the “Kiddies’ Carnival.”
