DR. C. J. REAKES. FORMER DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF AGRICULTURE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Dr. C. J. Reakes, former DirectorGenera] of Agriculture, has died, at the age of 79. He retired in 1936, after nearly forty years’ service with the Department, of which he was head for 18 years. Surviving relatives are a sister, Miss Reakes, Lower Hutt, and a brother, Mr. T. J. Reakes, Eltham. mr. d. McCaskill. LONG EDUCATIONAL SERVICE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The death is reported of Mr. Donald McCaskill, former Senior Inspector of Schools, aged 65. He was in the Education service for 46 years and since his retirement had been a member of the Wellington Education Board.
