The Waingawa Sub-Station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Shade temperature: Maximum 48, minimum 44, terrestrial 42. Sunshine, 8 hours 6 minutes. Rain, 37 points. The Waingawa Sub-Station reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature: Maximum 56, minimum 35, terrestrial 30. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 39 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. PHASES OF THE MOON. OCTOBER. First quarter, October 7. Full moon, October 14.
