ST. ANDREW SOCIETY

MONTHLY GATHERING. ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME. The Saint Andrew Society held its monthly gathering in the Masonic Hall on Saturday night, when there was a fair attendance. There was an excellent programme of Scottish and old-time dances and musical items. Miss Dorothy O’Donnell, whose singing is always appreciated by the Society, sang “Last May a Draw Wooer” and “Ma Hairt is Sail'.” Mrs. W. Watson played the accompaniments. 2nd Lieut. Alan Mackenzie Douglas and L.A.C. Wm. Mackenzie Douglas entertained with a harmonised duet on the pipes, this being “The Green Hills of Tyrol.” Four members of the U.S. Marine Corps sang four unaccompanied numbers and were warmly applauded. The Chief announced that the next gathering would be held on November when Halloween Night would bo celebrated. A committee of the younger members of the society was being formed to arrange for the entertainment of the juveniles during the early portion of the gathering.
