SOLWAY RAINFALL

FIGURES FOR SEPTEMBER. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured at Solway on 19 days in September. The maximum fall was 2.92 inches on the sth, and the minimum 1 point on the 22nd, 23rd and 27th. The total for the month was 8.72 inches as against 3.78 (1942), 2.36 (1941), 3.58 (1940), 2.18 (1939), 6.37 (1938). The average for forty years is 3.38 inches. The total rainfall for the liine months of this year is 32.71 inches as compared with 35.40 (1942), 35.75 (1941), 26.89 (1940), 24.11 (1939), 37.99 (1938). The average for forty years is 30.37 inches. In 1905 8.02 inches of rain was measured at Solway in September.
