The State Government has decided to permit the immediate removal of boards and wire netting covering windows of shops and business premises as a precaution against air raids. The Minister for National Emergency Services, Mr Heffron, said there would be no compulsion and business people could do the work at their own convenience. The improved war position made it possible to relax the regulations, the Minister added. The boarding up and shatter-proofing of windows was no longer regarded as necessary in London. v
