WAIRARAPA election VISIT TO BOOTHS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr. J* W. Holland, returning officer for Wairarapa eelctoratc, together with his assistant, Miss E. Wilkinson, paid visits to the numerous polling booths in the electorate on Saturday, from Carterton to Silverstream, and found everything working smoothly. The scrutiny of the rolls commenced today and it is anticipated that the recount will take place about Wednesday. Personal Items. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Clark and their daughter, Mrs. J. Booker, and Miss Gay Booker, of Dunedin, are the guests of Mrs. Fred Clark. Miss K. Clapshaw, of the nursing staff of Dannevirke Hospital, was a visitor to Featherston for the weekend. Miss Betty Muscroft-Taylor, Wellington, was the week-end guest of Miss Betty Smith. On Saturday night Mr. Dick Holland and Miss Joe Holland entertained about 30 friends at their home in Clifford Square, where an enjoyable time was spent in community singing, games and competitions. The winners of the competitions were Misses Z. Holland, G. Jensen, Cpl. C. Tucker and Mr. C. Bain. Supper was served by the host and hostess. COSY THEATRE “CAVALCADE.” On Wednesday night there will be shown the brilliant drama “Cavalcade,” in which the chief roles are taken by Diana Wynyard, Clive Brook, Margaret Lindsay and Bonita Graville.
