Cold night with some frosts. Day temperatures moderate. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Fine. Mr. H. M. Boddington reports that 50 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday, and one point during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 am. yesterday: Shade temperature, maximum 53, minimum 41; terrestrial 31. Sunshine, 3 hours 54 minutes. Rain, 33 points. The AVaingawa substation reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today: Shade temperature, maximum 52, minimum 31, terrestrial 21. Frost, 9.4 degrees. PHASES OF THE MOON. SEPTEMBER.
