MASTERTON DISTRICT QUOTA LATEST DONATIONS TOTAL TO DATE £9189 Further donations to the Masterton District Patriotic Fund quota are acknowledged by the Town Clerk, Mr G. T. O’Hara Smith, as follow:—Mrs W. H. Saunders £2, “The Master” £5, “E. 8. £1 L. W. Hutchinson £2, Mrs E. L. Carey £l, W.W.S.A. Street Collection £l7 Is Id, Kopuaranga Women’s Institute £l, sundry contributions 14s; previously acknowledged, £9159 19s 7d; total to date, £9189 14s Bd. Despite unfavourable weather conditions, the W.W.S.A., under Mrs Whittaker, on Friday afternoon and evening made a good return in collecting over £l7, principally in small donations by a street collection. The 1943 Patriotic Fund Appeal closes on Wednesday. At present Masterton is £1284 short of its quota. ZONE LIST WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB FURTHER DONATION MADE A further sum of £646 7s, in addition to £5OO previously paid into the Patriotic Funds from the Wairarapa Racing Club’s Easter Patriotic race meeting, is acknowledged by the secretary of the zone, Mr G. T. O’Hara Smith.
