Optimist Club Visit.
Members of the Masterton Optimist Club will visit the Whatman Home on Tuesday night. Transport will leave outside the Y.M.C.A. at 5.15 p.m. Elocution Examinations. In connection with the elocution examinations held recently by the Trinity College, the following pupils of Miss Merle Dickson, Masterton, were successful:—Preparatory Division: Geoflry Dagg (pass with merit). Intermediate Division: Margaret Dagg (pass with honours). Senior Division: Kathleen Wiltshire (pass with merit). Epiphani' Ladies' Guild. The Epiphany Church Ladies' Guild held a very successful afternoon at the residence of Mrs H. Hirst, High Street. The president, Mrs Whitton, was in the chair. A demonstration of apron and slipper making was given by Mrs Mupn. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdamcs Hirst, Adams and Miss Pearce. Thj next meeting will be held in the Epiphany Hall on Thursday, October 21.
