Service Club Euchre Party. At the Service Club’s euchre party Mrs Watson and Mr McGuinness tied for the prize. A mystery envelope was won by Mr McGuinness. Golf. In a contest for the Jeffrey trophy yesterday Miss Williams defeated Mrs Batchelor; Mrs McGill defeated Mrs Elbe, and Mrs Donald defeated Mrs Pope. A bogey competition resulted: Miss Williams, 1; Mrs Batchelor, 2; Mrs Donald, 3. Junior Red Cross Celebration. At the South Wairarapa Junior Red Cross Society’s celebration of the 21st birthday of the order, there was an excellent display of work, including peggy square quilts, knitted garments, beautifully smocked children’s dresses with sun bonnets, etc., babies’ nightgowns, felt slippers and wooden toys. These articles are to be sent to orphanages and the Plunket Society. There were also on display garments knitted by mothers from wool purchased with Junior Red Cross money obtained by the sale of vegetables. The special birthday fund donations for orphanages and babies’ homes in New Zealand were:—Dalefield £6 0s 6d,

Kahutara £5, Cross Creek £l. Dyerville £6 10s, Martinborough A Circle £lO. Other circles will have shop days, etc., in the interests of this fund. COSY THEATRE “KISSES FOR BREAKFAST.” _ There will be shown tomorrow night an excellent double feature programme headed by the outstanding comedy, “Kisses for Breakfast,” starring Dennis Morgan, Shirley Ross and Jane Wyatt. In “What’s Cookin’?” a brilliant musical comedy, the chief roles are taken by Jane Frazee, Robert Paige and Gloria Jean.
