RED CROSS SOCIETY ENJOYABLE EUCHRE PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) A very enjoyable euchre party was held yesterday afternoon under the auspices of the Red Cross Society. The first prize at cards was won by Mrs Kinsey. Competitions were won by Mesdames Jones, R. P. Hardy and Kinsey. Donations were received from Mesdames Sharp, Wakely, Hardy, Carlyon, Pieue, N. Matthews, Evans (Petone), Elliot, Misses Chisholm, E. Card and Goodrick. Tribal Committee Gathering. The Pukio Tribal Committee held a very successful dance and euchre party in the Kahutara Hall on Saturday night. The music was supplied by the Pirinoa orchestra and Mr W. Davidson was M.C. The euchre winners were:—Ladies: Mrs Hemi, 1; Mrs Thompson, 2. Men: R. Elbe, 1; A. Feast, 2. Lucky numbers: Mrs Te Whaiti and Mr H. C. Playle. A competition for a dinner was won by L. Ruka with E. Kamo second. Another competition was Avon by F. Te Maari. Personal. Sergeant Pilot Allen Johns is home on leave. COSY THEATRE “FOR EVER CHERISHED.” On Wednesday night there will be shown one of the finest sports pictures ever produced, “For Ever Cherished,” in which the chief roles are taken by Pat O’Brien, Ronald Reagan, Gale Page and Donald Crisp. The excellent associate feature, “Woman at Arms, should also make an appeal.
