Mrs R. Fell, Cole Street, Masterton, is staying at Paraparaumu Beach. Mr S. G. Holland, Leader of the Opposition, left Wellington for the north by the Limited express last night. He will address an election meeting in Hamilton tonight. The Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, Prime Minister, returned to Wellington on Saturday from the north. He will speak in Palmerston North tonight and after that will remain in Wellington for the rest of the election campaign. As an appreciation of his services to the club, Mr S. Davis was presented with an easy chair at the Wairarapa Coursing Club’s meeting during the weekend. The presentation was made by the patron, Mr J. H. Payton.
The funeral of the late Mr R. Culajevich took place in Masterton this morning. Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church by the Rev. Father Moore, and the Rev. Dr. Gilhooly officiated at the graveside. A wreath was sent by the Carterton R.S.A. The pallbearers were Messrs A. Wakefield, D. Wakefield, A. E. Prentice and C. A. Chennels.
