WOMEN’S DIVISION

MEETING AT PAHAUTEA

(“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Panautea branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held on Thursday when Mrs Ross presided over a good attendance. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Beattie, McKay, Bargh and Hector. One new member was welcomed. It was reported that during the past month 13 parcels had been forwarded to local service men overseas. Arrangements were made for the 12th birthday of the Division to be held next month. The competitions resulted as follows: — Flowers: Mesdames Farquhar and Ness, equal, 1; Mrs Grant, 2. Best toy: Mrs Welch, 1. The hostesses were Mesdames Parker and Ross.

United Service Gathering Padre H. W. F. Troughton will be the speaker at the united service gathering to be held in the Town Hall on Sunday night. COSY THEATRE “THE CHOCOLATE SOLDIER.” There will be shown tonight the brilliant musical comedy, “The Chocolate Soldier,” starring Nelson Eddy and Rise Stevens. It is the greatest show of recent years to be brought io the screen.
